Prohibited and restricted goods

OzParcel.com.au is operated by John Vouros trading as OzParcel.com.au, ABN 75 922 008 549. OzParcel supports ordinary, correctly described goods that meet the selected courier’s packaging and service rules. A price or form submission does not mean an item has been accepted.

Not accepted through OzParcel

  • Explosives, ammunition, firearms or weapons.
  • Flammable, corrosive, toxic, radioactive, compressed-gas, infectious or otherwise hazardous and regulated materials.
  • Loose or non-compliant batteries, fuel, aerosols, paint, bleach, poison or leaking liquids.
  • Illegal or stolen goods, illicit or controlled substances, counterfeit goods or anything whose transport would breach a law or permit condition.
  • Cash, bearer instruments, bullion, loose precious stones, human remains or ashes.
  • Live animals and goods requiring refrigerated, frozen, medical or other specialist temperature control.
  • Unpacked goods, inadequately secured freight, or goods that cannot safely withstand ordinary road or air transport.

Restricted items and limited cover

Alcohol, medicines, food, plants, glass, ceramics, stone, jewellery, watches, antiques, artwork, electronics, personal effects, used machinery, furniture and other fragile, valuable or regulated goods may be refused, limited to certain services, require special packaging or documentation, or be excluded from loss-and-damage warranty cover. Do not assume that carrier acceptance means warranty cover applies.

Size, weight and packaging

Enter the final packed weight and external dimensions. An item over 25 kg must be secured on a skid or pallet, or in a suitable crate, where the quoted service requires it. Long, bulky, irregular or non-stackable freight may require a specialist service, loading equipment or additional handling charges. Every item must carry the provider-issued label and comply with the selected courier’s current packaging rules.

Your declaration

You must describe the contents accurately and check the selected service’s current conditions before booking. Do not disguise an item or use a generic description to bypass a safety block. OzParcel’s automated checks are a precaution only and are not a regulatory classification or confirmation that the goods are lawful to carry.

What may happen to unsupported goods

OzParcel or a provider may refuse or cancel the booking. A carrier may inspect, isolate, return, store or lawfully dispose of incorrectly declared or unsafe goods. The customer may be responsible for resulting charges, loss, damage, penalties and reasonable costs, subject to applicable law.

Unsure about an item?

Do not book it. Email support@ozparcel.com.au with the product name, manufacturer information, packaging, quantity and any safety data sheet. OzParcel cannot approve specialist or regulated freight; you may need an appropriately licensed provider.
