Draft for legal approval · Version 2026-08-30
Terms of Service
These terms govern use of OzParcel to compare Australian courier services and, when paid checkout is activated, request a booking. OzParcel.com.au is operated by John Vouros trading as OzParcel.com.au, ABN 75 922 008 549. These terms must be read with the Privacy Policy, Refunds and cancellations policy, and Prohibited goods policy.
1. OzParcel’s role
OzParcel is a courier-comparison and booking platform. It obtains rates and arranges delivery services through Transdirect Pty Ltd and the courier or freight provider identified with the selected service. OzParcel is not the driver and does not physically carry, pack, store or inspect your goods. Transdirect’s current trading terms and the selected provider’s conditions, exclusions, service rules and claims requirements also apply to the delivery. Other applicable provider conditions are available from the provider or on request.
2. Who may book
You must be at least 18 years old and authorised by the owner of the goods and by the payer to request the service. If you book for a business, sender, receiver or owner, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for them. You are responsible for ensuring that the sender and receiver know the relevant delivery and privacy information.
3. Quotes, totals and estimates
- Quotes depend on the locations, address type, packed weight, dimensions, quantity, packaging, contents, declared value and optional services you provide.
- The displayed customer total is in Australian dollars and includes OzParcel’s service margin and any carrier charge already returned in the quote. OzParcel is not currently registered for GST and does not add or separately charge GST.
- A quote is an immediate estimate, not a booking, delivery guarantee, insurance policy or promise that a carrier will accept the goods.
- OzParcel requotes before checkout. Availability, pickup dates, transit estimates and prices may change before the carrier confirms the booking.
- Couriers may reweigh, remeasure or reclassify freight. You must pay any resulting adjustment and any applicable carrier charge, including residential, remote-area, redelivery, futile collection, manual handling, tail-lift, storage, return-to-sender, address-correction or other service fees.
4. Booking and payment
When live checkout is available, OzParcel collects the displayed total through Stripe-hosted Checkout before asking the carrier to confirm the booking. Your request becomes a confirmed delivery only when the carrier accepts it and a booking or consignment reference is issued. If payment succeeds but confirmation cannot be completed, OzParcel will follow the process in the Refunds and cancellations policy. The current preview environment does not collect payment or dispatch a parcel.
5. Your information and responsibilities
You must provide complete and accurate contact, address, access, parcel, contents, value, weight and dimension information. Goods must be properly packed, labelled and ready during the selected collection window. Freight over 25 kg must use the packaging or loading method required by the quoted service. You must provide safe and lawful access, including suitable loading or unloading facilities where required. You are responsible for loss, delay, refusal and additional charges caused by inaccurate information, unsuitable packaging, unavailable freight, unsafe access or a receiver who cannot accept delivery, except to the extent the law provides otherwise.
6. Goods we do not accept
Do not request a booking for goods excluded by the Prohibited goods policy or the selected provider. OzParcel may block a quote, refuse or cancel a booking, or require specialist transport when the goods, packaging, route or requested service falls outside the supported scope. A carrier may inspect, refuse, return, store or lawfully dispose of incorrectly declared or unsafe goods and may charge the resulting costs.
7. Pickup, delivery and authority to leave
Pickup windows and transit times are estimates and may be affected by carrier operations, weather, traffic, remote-area schedules, access, public holidays or events outside reasonable control. If you authorise delivery without a signature, the carrier may leave the goods at a place it considers suitable. Delivery may then be treated as complete, and loss or damage after a safe drop may be excluded from carrier or warranty cover. If delivery cannot be completed, redelivery, storage, return or disposal rules and charges may apply.
8. Changes, cancellations and refunds
A booking is not necessarily changeable or cancellable after carrier confirmation. Contact OzParcel promptly; do not assume a request has been accepted until confirmed in writing. Carrier cancellation and other costs may be deducted where permitted by law. The detailed process is set out in the Refunds and cancellations policy.
9. Loss, damage and transit warranty
OzParcel does not sell or arrange insurance. A quote may show conditional carrier or Transdirect transit-warranty cover only when that cover is returned for the selected service. Any cover is subject to separate limits, exclusions, evidence and claim deadlines; declared value does not by itself create cover. Notify OzParcel promptly of loss, non-delivery or damage and retain the goods, packaging, photographs, invoices and other evidence. Do not dispose of damaged goods until instructed.
10. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies a right, guarantee, remedy or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights that may apply under the Australian Consumer Law. Where a liability can lawfully be limited, any limitation will apply only to the extent permitted by law. Consumer remedies depend on the circumstances and are not replaced by a carrier warranty or by these terms.
11. Platform availability and misuse
OzParcel may suspend access, reject a request or correct an obvious error to protect customers, providers or the platform, comply with law, address suspected fraud or prevent unsafe use. The website, APIs and content must not be scraped, reverse engineered, overloaded, used to bypass rate limits or used to make an unauthorised booking.
12. Communications
OzParcel and service providers may send transactional email or SMS about quotes, payment, collection, delivery, tracking, support, cancellations or refunds. Service communications are not marketing. Follow the opt-out instructions for optional messages; opting out of optional messages does not prevent essential booking notices.
13. Changes and governing law
The version accepted at checkout applies to that booking. Updated terms apply to later use and will show a new version date. These terms are governed by applicable Australian law. Nothing in this section prevents a consumer from relying on a jurisdiction or forum available under mandatory law.
Launch approval status
This document is operationally aligned but remains a draft. The operator name and ABN are verified. Paid checkout must stay disabled until OzParcel’s public service address is inserted, the Transdirect commercial arrangement is confirmed in writing, and Australian legal counsel approves the policy pack.
